The Kinetico KF-B is a semi-automatic self-cleaning pre-filter with a 40-micron stainless-steel mesh, pressure gauge and both 3/4-inch and 1-inch union fittings. It is designed to intercept coarse particles before downstream water-treatment equipment.

Understand its purpose
A pre-filter—not a water softener or drinking-water purifier
The KF-B protects downstream equipment by screening larger particles. It does not remove hardness minerals, soften water, reduce dissolved salts or provide fine drinking-water purification.
What it does

Upstream of compatible water-treatment equipment on the municipal mains supply.

It does not replace a softener, fine filter, UV system or reverse-osmosis purifier.

Kinetico describes the KF-B as a semi-automatic self-cleaning pre-filter. The washable mesh is cleaned while retained inside the housing, avoiding routine cartridge removal for the normal flushing process.
The screen is reusable, but it is also available as a genuine replacement part if it becomes damaged or reaches the end of its serviceable life.

Kinetico gives separate nominal flow figures for the two supplied connection sizes. Final suitability still depends on the property’s measured pressure, required peak flow and the complete plumbing arrangement.
