Electropositive 0.2 micron particulate filtration
High-efficiency filtration with strong flow and low pressure drop
The NanoCeram® P4.5-10 is a pleated 4.5 × 10 inch cartridge designed to capture extremely fine particles using electropositive attraction as well as depth filtration. Its high-surface-area media combines microglass, cellulose and nanoalumina fibres for residential point-of-entry filtration and specialist pre-filtration applications.
Advanced charged-fibre media
Captures fine particles without relying only on pore size
The thermally bonded media forms an electropositively charged filtration matrix. Many suspended particles carry a negative charge, allowing the NanoCeram media to attract and retain them throughout the depth of the pleated cartridge.
- 99.9% reduction of 0.2 µm test particles

Published capacity
Osmio lists an approximate 40,000-litre capacity.
Typical lifespan
Osmio lists an average life of approximately 12 months.
Electroadsorptive filtration
How NanoCeram technology works
Water enters the pleats
The pleated construction exposes a large filtration surface while supporting a strong flow rate.
Particles meet charged fibres
Electropositive nanoalumina-infused media attracts oppositely charged suspended material.
Depth capture retains particles
Particles are adsorbed throughout the non-woven media rather than only being trapped at the outer surface.
Filtered water continues downstream
The cartridge provides fine filtration with lower resistance than many ultrafine membrane formats.
Published performance
Fine-particle, cyst, bacteria and turbidity reduction
The attached manufacturer datasheet reports the following performance under its stated laboratory conditions. These results should not be treated as a substitute for water testing or an appropriately specified disinfection stage.
0.2 µm particles
Reduction measured using monodispersed latex spheres.
Cyst retention
Published log-reduction performance for cyst-sized contaminants.
Tested bacteria
Published retention for Klebsiella terrigena.
Turbidity
Published turbidity output until the stated terminal pressure differential.
Silt Density Index
Low published SDI supports downstream membrane protection.
Dirt-holding capacity
Based on A2 Fine Test Dust for the P4.5-10 cartridge.
Flow and service life
Designed for residential point-of-entry filtration
The manufacturer datasheet lists a suggested flow of 38 L/min for the P4.5-10. Its 95 L/min peak figure was measured with a new cartridge and clean water during laboratory testing, so it should not be used as the normal design flow.
Suggested flow rate
The appropriate working figure for system planning.
Laboratory peak flow
Initial peak flow using a new cartridge and clean water.
Osmio listed capacity
An approximate guide that varies with water conditions and usage.
Average listed lifespan
Replace earlier if pressure loss or water conditions indicate exhaustion.
Compatible replacement cartridge
Used as the final stage in the Osmio PROMAX-III Ultimate
The NanoCeram P4.5-10 provides the fine particulate and microorganism-reduction stage within the compact PROMAX-III system. Confirm the cartridge size and system model before ordering for any other housing.

Understand its role
A particulate filter, not a chemical-treatment cartridge
Fine suspended material
Particles, turbidity, cysts and tested bacteria captured through depth and electropositive filtration.
Dissolved chemicals
It does not replace activated carbon or specialist media for chlorine, chloramine, PFAS or fluoride reduction.
Hardness and limescale
It does not remove dissolved calcium and magnesium or soften hard water.

Helpful answers
Frequently asked questions
Is NanoCeram a conventional 0.2 micron membrane?
No. It is a pleated depth-filter cartridge that combines fine filtration with electropositive adsorption. The datasheet reports 99.9% reduction of 0.2 µm monodispersed latex test particles, but it should not be described as a conventional absolute membrane.
What is the recommended flow rate?
The P4.5-10 datasheet lists a suggested flow of 38 litres per minute. The 95 L/min peak figure is based on initial laboratory flow with a new cartridge and clean water and is not the normal design flow.
How often should the cartridge be replaced?
Osmio lists an average lifespan of approximately 12 months and an approximate 40,000-litre capacity. Actual life depends on incoming turbidity, particulate loading, usage and pressure loss, so replacement may be required sooner.
Does it reduce bacteria and cysts?
The manufacturer datasheet reports more than 5 LRV retention for cysts and for the test bacterium Klebsiella terrigena. It should not be relied on as the sole treatment for microbiologically unsafe or unknown-quality water without an appropriately designed disinfection system.
Does NanoCeram remove chlorine or fluoride?
No specific chlorine or fluoride capacity is stated for this cartridge. It is primarily a fine particulate and microorganism-reduction stage. Use carbon or specialist media for dissolved chemical contaminants.
Will it fit every 4.5 × 10 inch housing?
Do not assume compatibility from the nominal size alone. The cartridge measures approximately 4.45 inches in diameter by 9.75 inches long. Check the housing specification and service clearance before ordering.
