Complete under-sink drinking-water filter kit
Better-tasting filtered water from your existing drinking-water tap
The Hommix Advanced GAC + KDF Filter Kit provides a compact under-sink filtration stage for a dedicated drinking-water tap or the filtered-water channel of a compatible 3-way tap. The complete kit includes the cartridge, tubing, feed valve, brackets and installation fittings.

Compact under-sink filtration
Filtered drinking water without taking over the cupboard
The slim inline cartridge mounts discreetly beneath the kitchen sink and feeds a separate filtered-water outlet. It provides a straightforward alternative for homes that want better-tasting mains water without installing a larger multi-stage or reverse-osmosis system.
- Compact cartridge for limited cupboard space
- Separate filtered-water route from the cold main
- Suitable for a drinking-water tap or compatible 3-way tap
- Accessible installation for routine filter replacement

Dual-media filtration
GAC and KDF work together inside one inline cartridge
Granular activated carbon is used to reduce chlorine-related taste and odour and adsorb selected organic compounds. KDF media complements the carbon stage and is used in the reduction of selected dissolved metals.
- Helps reduce chlorine taste and odour
- Reduces sediment, rust and visible turbidity
- Manufacturer-listed reduction of selected heavy metals
- Helps reduce selected VOCs and organic compounds
Choose it for the right job
Designed to improve mains drinking water—not to perform reverse osmosis
This system is intended for treated mains water where the priority is improved taste, odour and general drinking-water quality. It does not desalinate water, substantially reduce total dissolved solids or provide the same treatment barrier as an RO membrane or ultrafiltration system.
A suitable choice
For a dedicated filtered-water outlet supplied by normal treated mains water.
Not a purifier
Do not use it to make microbiologically unsafe or unknown water safe to drink.
Not reverse osmosis
Choose an RO system when broad dissolved-solids reduction is the requirement.

Ready for installation
The essential filter connections are supplied together
The kit is assembled around standard ¼-inch drinking-water tubing and push-fit connections. A tap is not listed as part of the kit, so use it with a suitable existing drinking-water tap or compatible 3-way tap.
- One Hommix GAC + KDF inline filter
- Two metres of ¼-inch tubing
- Two ¼-inch push-fit elbow connectors
- Two mounting brackets
- ¼-inch feed valve and pipe cutter
- Installation screws and associated fittings
Installation overview
A simple dedicated filtered-water route
The exact plumbing arrangement depends on the tap and existing pipework. If you are not competent to alter the water supply, use a suitably qualified installer.
Connect the feed
Take a cold-water feed using the supplied valve, following the installer’s assessment of the existing pipework.
Mount the filter
Secure the cartridge beneath the sink where it remains accessible for replacement.
Connect the outlet
Run the ¼-inch tubing to a dedicated drinking tap or the filtered channel of a compatible 3-way tap.
Check and flush
Open the supply, inspect every connection for leaks and flush a new filter thoroughly before drinking.
Routine replacement
Replace at six months or 8,000 litres
Hommix states that the cartridge should be replaced every six months or after 8,000 litres, whichever occurs first. Actual life can be shorter where water quality is poorer or consumption is higher.

Frequently asked questions
Does this kit include a drinking-water tap?
No. It includes the filter and connection accessories listed on the page. Connect it to a suitable dedicated drinking-water tap or the separate filtered-water channel of a compatible 3-way tap.
What does the GAC + KDF filter reduce?
Hommix lists reduction of chlorine taste and odour, sediment, rust, turbidity, selected heavy metals, VOCs and organic compounds. Performance depends on incoming-water conditions, flow and cartridge age.
Does it reduce limescale or water hardness?
This is not a water softener, and Hommix does not publish it as a hardness-removal system. Choose an appropriate softener or specialist scale-treatment product where limescale is the main concern.
Will it reduce TDS like reverse osmosis?
No. GAC and KDF filtration is different from reverse osmosis and is not intended to deliver broad dissolved-solids reduction. Choose an RO system when that is the required treatment.
How often should the filter be replaced?
Replace the cartridge every six months or after 8,000 litres, whichever comes first. Replace sooner if local conditions or reduced performance make this necessary.
Can I install the kit myself?
The push-fit filter connections are straightforward, but the cold-water feed and tap connection must be correct and leak-free. Use a suitably qualified installer if you are not competent to alter the plumbing.
Can it treat private-supply or unsafe water?
Not on the information published for this kit. It should not be relied on to make microbiologically unsafe or unknown water safe. Obtain a water analysis and specify a suitable treatment system instead.
