Carbon polishing and mineralisation
The final filtration stage for balanced, better-tasting RO water
The Ecosoft MCB Carbon Block and Mineralising Post-filter combines final-stage activated-carbon filtration with mineralisation. Designed for the Ecosoft CROSS 90 Balance, it refines the taste and smell of reverse-osmosis water before it reaches the drinking-water tap.

Two functions in one cartridge
Polishes the water and restores mineral balance
After the reverse-osmosis membrane has completed the main purification stage, water passes through the MCB cartridge. Its compressed activated-carbon layer provides the final taste and odour polish, while the mineralising stage adds minerals back to the purified water.
- Final-stage carbon block filtration
- Mineralises purified reverse-osmosis water
- Helps improve taste, smell and drinking quality
- Genuine Ecosoft replacement cartridge
Carbon block
Provides the final taste and odour polishing stage.
Mineralising stage
Adds minerals back after reverse-osmosis purification.
Fast and dry
Twist-lock design supports a clean, tool-free change.
12-month interval
Ecosoft recommends replacement every 12 months.

Made for the final stage
Freshens RO water immediately before dispensing
Reverse osmosis is highly effective because it removes dissolved material from the incoming water. The MCB sits after the membrane, where it can polish the purified water and adjust its mineral composition at the last stage of the filtration path.
This is a replacement post-filter, not a reverse-osmosis membrane or pre-filter. It does not replace the system's CF cartridge or 600 GPD membrane.
Compatibility check
Officially specified for the CROSS 90 Balance
Ecosoft publishes the MCB as the mineralising carbon post-filter for the CROSS 90 Balance. It can also be fitted to a CROSS 60 as an optional mineralising upgrade, but that use is not listed as the cartridge's formal manufacturer compatibility.

Fast and dry replacement
A straightforward cartridge change without specialist tools
The cartridge uses Ecosoft's twist-lock replacement arrangement. Turning the old cartridge releases it from the system, and the replacement locks into position with a clockwise turn.
- Turn and remove the exhausted MCB cartridge
- Insert the new cartridge fully into its housing
- Turn the handle 90° clockwise to secure it
- Reset the relevant filter-life indicator for five seconds
- Flush the new MCB cartridge before drinking the water
Replacement sequence
Change, reset and flush
Remove
Turn the used MCB cartridge anticlockwise and pull it out.
Install
Push the replacement fully home and turn it 90° clockwise.
Reset
Hold the corresponding filter-reset button for five seconds.
Flush
Open the purified-water tap and flush the MCB for approximately 15 minutes.

Helpful answers
Frequently asked questions
Which system is the MCB officially made for?
Ecosoft officially specifies product code PDCBDFRO as the carbon block and mineralising post-filter for the CROSS 90 Balance.
Can it be used with an Ecosoft CROSS 60?
It can be fitted as an optional mineralising post-filter in a CROSS 60, but Ecosoft's published product compatibility names the CROSS 90 Balance. Contact us before ordering if you are converting a CROSS 60.
How often should I replace it?
The published replacement interval is every 12 months. Replace it sooner if the system indicates that the cartridge has reached the end of its monitored life.
Is this the reverse-osmosis membrane?
No. This is the final carbon and mineralising post-filter. The 600 GPD reverse-osmosis membrane and CF pre-filter are separate cartridges.
Do I need to reset the system after fitting it?
Yes. Hold the corresponding cartridge reset button for five seconds, then follow the flushing procedure before drinking the water.
