Key Advantages

Why Choose the Aquaphor S1000?

28 L

High-Capacity Resin

A larger fine-mesh resin bed provides increased treatment capacity for more demanding household water conditions.

25 / 38 L/min

Strong Flow Capability

Aquaphor specifies 25 L/min nominal and 38 L/min maximum flow, with system sizing still dependent on pressure and demand.

Up to 30%

Lower Salt Use

Aquaphor states its compact resin and regeneration design can require up to 30% less salt than conventional softeners.

Up to 5×

Less Regeneration Water

The patented Dual Core valve system is designed to substantially reduce regeneration-water consumption.

Whole-Home Protection

Built for Higher Treatment Demand

The S1000 removes the calcium and magnesium minerals responsible for hard-water scale while also treating suitable supplies containing dissolved iron and manganese.

Its larger 28-litre resin volume gives it greater treatment capacity than the smaller Aquaphor cabinet models, making it the logical option where incoming hardness or household demand requires additional capacity.

  • Reduces limescale throughout the property
  • Helps protect boilers and water-using appliances
  • Reduces suitable dissolved iron and manganese
  • Regenerates according to measured water use

Water Treatment Capability

Softening with Iron and Manganese Reduction

Aquaphor's current S1000 specification rates maximum dissolved ferrous iron and manganese concentration at 14 mg/L, subject to the full incoming water chemistry. The manual states that treated iron can be reduced to 0.3 mg/L or below and manganese to 0.1 mg/L or below under specified conditions.

Hardness Reduction

Maximum compensated hardness is specified at 1712 mg/L.

Iron & Manganese

Designed for dissolved forms; it is not intended to remove colloidal iron or iron bound in organic complexes.

Minimum pH 6

The incoming water must meet Aquaphor's source-water requirements for reliable treatment performance.

Efficient Regeneration

More Capacity Without Conventional Softener Waste

The S1000 combines superfine monodisperse resin with intelligent water-meter-controlled regeneration. Smaller resin granules increase the contact surface with the water and regenerate efficiently, while the Dual Core valve architecture reduces unnecessary discharge.

Installation Planning

Check the Space Before You Order

The S1000 is taller than the S800 while retaining the same published cabinet footprint. Allow additional room for pipework, the drain connection, power supply and easy access to the salt cabinet.

Installation Requirements

What the S1000 Needs

Incoming Mains Supply

Normally installed on the incoming water supply to provide softened water throughout the property.

Drain Connection

A suitable drain is required for regeneration, with a minimum 16mm / 5/8-inch drain line.

Electrical Supply

The intelligent metered controller requires 12 VAC power.

Operating Pressure

Aquaphor specifies an operating range of 1.4 to 7 bar.

Temperature Range

Water and ambient operating temperature must remain between 5°C and 38°C.

Flow Planning

Aquaphor cautions that prolonged operation above 30 L/min may reduce treatment efficiency.

Common Questions

Aquaphor S1000 FAQs

Who is the Aquaphor S1000 best suited to?

The S1000 is the highest-capacity model of the S550/S800/S1000 cabinet range and is most relevant where water hardness, treatment capacity or household demand justifies its larger 28-litre resin bed.

Does the S1000 remove iron and manganese?

It is designed to reduce dissolved iron and manganese within Aquaphor's specified source-water limits. It does not treat colloidal iron or iron held in organic complexes.

What flow rate can the S1000 handle?

Aquaphor specifies 25 L/min nominal and 38 L/min maximum flow. The manual also warns that sustained operation above 30 L/min can reduce treatment efficiency, so peak flow requirements should be checked when sizing the system.

Does the S1000 need electricity?

Yes. Its intelligent metered controller uses a 12 VAC power supply.

How efficient is the S1000?

Aquaphor states that the design can use up to 30% less salt and up to five times less regeneration water than conventional column-style softeners.

What warranty does it have?

Aquaphor lists a 10-year warranty for the S1000.
